During hectic times (like the holidays), it can be challenging to calm the mind. Meditation can help. ALOT. But, when the mind is busiest can also be when meditating is the most challenging.
Yoga asana/postures are great for helping to prepare yourself for meditation. When your mind is whirling, you often aren’t connected to your body. Your thoughts have taken precedence and are ruling. By moving the body with asana, we being to connect to the sensations within again, opening nadis/channels for our energy to move again and our minds to settle. This helps us to release tensions and strictures that make it hard to sit still or even comfortably.
This yoga asana sequence will help to ground you in a couple ways. First, it will help to bring you out of your head and into your body. Then, it will help you to be comfortable in your body so that you might be comfortable in your mind. It is a wonderful way to begin a meditation practice.
Yoga for Meditation:
Wishing you peace, wishing you calm, wishing you all the best. Namaste. Jai Bhagwan.
