This is a great pose to release wrist tension, whatever the reason for it. And it’s a fun name. Full disclosure, I totally named this after my dog… she loves to go on hikes and is a great companion that trucks right along. (There she is to the right, all ready to go at White Sands!) When she gets tired, though, I can tell because she starts to wag her hind-a fend back and forth as she walks. We call it her wiggle-waggle. It is much the same motion that we create with this pose. And I’m sure it helps keep her hips loose, just as this helps keep your wrist loose.
How to do the Wrist Wiggle-Waggle:
- Place the heels of your hands lightly on either side of your partner’s wrist (inside of the wrist and back of the wrist) and slide one hand slightly forward while the other goes back, causing your partner’s hand to “wiggle waggle.”
- Repeat several times on each side.
- It’s super fun to do this one really fast! (Gotta amuse the therapist 🙂
Benefits: Releases wrist tension.
