The Pecs do alot for us… they help us lift heavy things, they hold up heavy appendages, they round our shoulders when we feel the need to protect our heart. Some of these things are obvious (like when you go to the gym) and some not so much (like mousing on our computers). As a result, the pecs always need a little loosening!
This simple Thai Yoga Massage move will make your pecs feel immeasurably better, so grab a partner and try it out!
How to Palm/Thumb Sen Kalathari on the Pecs:
- Sit or kneel above your partner’s head and place the heels of your hands on their chest between their armpits and the middle of their collarbone, one hand on each side.
- Apply pressure with one hand at a time to palm for several rounds, then thumb from the inner point of the collarbone to the upper edge of the armpit.
Benefits: Reduces muscle tension and improves circulation to both Pec Major and Pec Minor. Opens shoulders and releases neck tension.
Cautions: Be mindful of your hand placement here, make sure your partner is comfortable with it and you are not invading their personal space in this sensitive area.
