Mmmm… this pose for the sole of the foot is so yummy. Find a friend and practice helping one another melt into relaxation with this!
This pose can be done on the floor as part of a larger massage sequence. But, it can also be done seated as a stand alone posture. If you do this seated, have your partner’s foot in your lap.
Thumbing Sen Kalathari on the Sole:
- Bring your thumbs together on the sole of the foot, with your fingers resting on the top of the foot.
- Thumb along each line, from heel to toe, with a forward rocking motion. You can do one line at a time or two at a time.
- Repeat several times on each foot.
Benefits: Helps release tension in the sole of the foot and ankle; improves circulation; stimulates Sen lines and Marma points on the sole of the foot. Great for folks prone to Plantar Fasciitis.
Cautions: If your partner is ticklish, be sure not to hesitate and to use firm pressure.
